'Life is Work'
People's Education Society, Thane, is one of the leading and oldest educational institutions in Thane city. On 15th June 1926, Late Shri V.N. Bhole started the New English School in Thane, he was also its principal at that time. Later sometime in 1932 Late Mr. K. B. Joshi, Joined Late Mr. V. N. Bhole, Late Mr. K. B. Joshi was then the secretary and superintendent of the New English School in Thane. The society has risen from very adverse conditions and has always made sincere efforts to build its society through education. Society believes that education is a basic need of life just like food, clothing and shelter. If a child is educated he can take care of himself and his family in any situation.
In the beginning, the School had only first five classes (old). In course of time the School grew in its strength and popularity and in the year 1934 it became a full - fledged High - School. However in order to gain stability and to achieve further progress, the Late Mr. V. N. Bhole and Late Mr. K. B. Joshi thought it advisable to form an Educational society and transfer the School to it. As decided, on 13th January 1936 the present Peoples’ Education Society Thane was formed and the School was transferred to it.
The Society was duly registered under the Act XXI OF 1860 on 9th August 1937 and later on it was also registered under Bombay Public Trust Act XXIX on 12th November, 1952.
