Naupada Middle School was established on June 10, 1936 by the P. E. Society Thane for Naupada Division of Thane by keeping in mind the increasing number of students in the city at that time. Naupada was a separate area from the main Thane city, it was considered as separate village and it was Gram Panchayat. There was no other school in Naupada division, so getting a school was a challenge for the children of this division. There was no other school in Naupada division, so the dignitaries thought that we should start a middle school.
5th to 8th classes were started in this school. After class 8, boys were sent to the New English School of the society and girls to the New Girls School for the next classes.
Initially, the school started in Mr. Veerkar's premises. After that, the school used to be held in 5 rooms on the second floor in a two-storied chali at Mandvikar Wadi at Gokhale Road. The school premises were taken on rental basis. In the face of many difficulties, the work of education was carried out by the incessant teachers with joy. Later the school was moved to the institution's own premises at Ram Maruti Road. The school is blessed with a grand playground, well-equipped auditorium for cultural programs, separate laboratories, computer room, library and spacious airy classrooms where students can acquire knowledge.
In the academic year 1995-96, the 1st and 10th classes started and the Naupada Middle School was converted into a high school. This pre-independence school completed 75 years in the year 2011-12 and many programs were celebrated in the year of Diamond jubilee.
Many former students of Naupada Middle School are highly educated and are working in various fields. Similarly, being aware of social commitment, they are also active in social work. They makes the school proud.
